When you are going to a Washington Capitals game, you can be sure that you are in for a treat if you are a hockey lover. The media connections that this team has include Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic and WFED. This winning team has not only won conference championships but also division championships. The owner of the team is Ted Leonsis and the General Manager is George McPhee. The head coach is Bruce Boudreau who used to be a hockey player and had been a centre man who shot left. He played for over twenty years before he turned to coaching and he had played for many teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Black Hawks and the Minnesota Fighting Saints. The captain of the team is Chris Clark who is the right wing man and who shoots right also. He has being playing for over ten years professionally and was born in South Windsor, Connecticut. This is a great man for the job of captain and one who is sure to make the Washington Capitals proud currently and in the future. He also played in collage as well as having done some international hockey. Although they have been at a strong disadvantage as compared to other teams, they have done their best to step up their game against their rivals. Even their coach began insulting them and it was not long before the assistant coach had to take up the mantle to prevent any further losses from happening. Even though this occurred, they fix one mistake and become stronger every time they do, which is not something that many other teams can honestly state. However, despite the time they have had which puts them in a negative light, it is interesting to note that the Washington Capitals have not given up. Although they could have many times, they continue to stay a team even when they lose players. With each change they make, they sharpen and hone their edge, striving hard to make it to the Stanley they continue to hope for even in the face of strong opposition. It is also interesting to note that the alternate logo of the Washington Capitals, although clearly an eagle, looks almost as if it were a phoenix rising out of the ground. Many fans believe the Washington Capitals will rise to make a true running for the Cup and that they will bring a fiercer edge of competition to the NHL than has ever been seen before. Although this might elude them, it is clear that this is exactly what is on their minds every time that the Washington Capitals take to the ice against their rival teams. |
