The San Francisco 49ers, are an American professional football team in the Western Division of the National Football Conference of the National Football League. Although they play their home games in San Francisco's Candlestick Park, the club's headquarters and practice facility are located in Santa Clara, CA. there have been some indications that the team will move their home games to a new stadium to be built in Santa Clara. This has met with considerable resistance in San Francisco, with some legislators promising to disallow them from using the city's name in their team name, and even going so far as to refuse to provide shuttle buses from the city to Santa Clara, which is about 30 miles away.
