Philadelphia Eagles Season Tickets
Event Date: Sat, Sep 11, 2010 @ 1:00 PM Event Location: Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia) Information about the Philadelphia EaglesLocated in Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Eagles are a striking example of how hard work can lead to great results. As one of the first teams in professional football, the Philadelphia Eagles can still pack a stadium and sell Eagles tickets with ease. If you're one of the lucky ones to have Philadelphia Eagles tickets, you will want to learn more about the rich history of this team before you take your seats. Cheering for a team with this background makes it all the more personal and all the more satisfying when they actually win the game. The Philadelphia Eagles started out their football history in the National Football League in 1933. The Eagles were first in the Eastern Division and then in the American Conference before moving to the Eastern Conference and the Capitol Division coming to their current place in the NFC East. During the 1931 NFL season, the Frankford Yellow Jackets went bankrupt and had to stop their operations. This dormant franchise was empty for over a year before Lud Wray and Bert Bell stepped in and created the Philadelphia Eagles. Inspired by the New Deal, this team became a symbol of new energy and of possibility. And while none of the original Yellow Jackets members were a part of the Eagles, they are considered to be the same team. As an expansion team, the Philadelphia Eagles were struggling when they began play. The reduced roster in 1943 (due to WWII) caused the team to have to merge with the Pittsburg Steelers. This lead to a mish mash team called the Steagers for a time. By the end of the war and the end of the 1940s, Coach Earle Neale came in and led the team to three championship games in a row, winning two of them. What's even more impressive about these wins is that the Philadelphia Eagles are the only team to have won back to back championship games as shutouts. With Buck Shaw at the helm in the 1960s, the Philadelphia Eagles continued their reign of the NFL. The Eagles in 1960 became the only team to defeat Vince Lombardi's team in the playoffs. After a change of team ownership, Jerry Williams became the new head coach, and in 1976, Dick Vermeil became the coach, though he only had one winning season. When the AFL and the NFL merged, the Philadelphia Eagles began to struggle. But in 2004, the Philadelphia Eagles were back in the Super Bowl, losing to the New England Patriots. Again, in 2008, the Philadelphia Eagles were back in an NFC championship, losing to the Arizona Cardinals this time. This next 2009 season looks to be a strong one with the current lineup of players from the almost-winning 2008 season. Lincoln Financial Field is where the Philadelphia Eagles current play their games and have done so since 2003. This stadium is located at 1020 Pattison Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This complex can hold up to 68,532 fans. This field is also home to the annual Army-Navy football game as well as some Division I college football games. |
