Information about the New England Patriots

The Las Vegas oddsmakers believe in the New England Patriots, enough to show them favored to win the Super Bowl next year, even though they didn't even make the NFL playoffs this season.

The spread is at 6-1 favorites for the Patriots to win the NFL championship on Feb. 7, 2010, all because of the probable return of their former MVP, Tom Brady as quarterback after he had to sit out the rest of this season due to being sidelined after his knee injury. An organization that advises casinos on the lines for betting, Las Vegas Sports Consultants, made this prediction based on the teams performance last season, taking them to the Super Bowl with their only loss for the whole year to the New York Giants in that Super Bowl.

Since the Patriots basically had a similar line at the beginning of this season, prior to Brady's knee injury, they believe that should he come back, as expected, the predictions for this year should be repeated for next year.

To round out the predictions for next year, the Pittsburg Steelers are second to New England next year with a 7-1 spread. The Steelers are favored though in this year's Feb 1 Super Bowl over the Arizona Cardinals with a 6 1/2 point lead.

With their 11-5 record this season, the Patriots became the second team in the history of the NFL to not make the playoffs. The team was able to put this record together even though Brady got sidelined in the season opener with his knee injury.

The Patriots narrowly missed the postseason with Matt Cassel's fill-in performance netting him 3,693 yards throwing, getting 21 touchdowns and throwing for only 11 interceptions. Another part of the justifications for these spreads and predictions is the record of the Patriots over the past seven Super Bowls of winning three of them with Brady as QB.

To round out the odds for some other teams for the 2010 Super Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys are at 9-1 odds, the Baltimore Ravens are at 11-1 , after losing to the Steelers in the AFL championship. The list of the rest of the playoff teams from this season rounds the odds list at 12-1, and includes: The Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans.

All these odds should do well for the Patriots tickets sales to get that personal home stadium filled up a little more and up the revenue levels.

All of these great things continue to happen for the New England Patriots, even with the drama from 2007 with the accusations of New England Patriots Head Coach, Bill Belichick doing some cheating with a video camera.

While the outrage was met with calls for Belichick's severe punishment and stricter rules regarding videotaping, this was not the first incidence of the same video technician being involved in such incidents. The question is whether it will be the last.

Now the New England Patriots tickets sales can get geared up for a 2009 season that juts might have them on the way to a Super Bowl, something that makes fans come to the stadium to be a part of the mission.
