It is perhaps fitting that the Los Angeles Clippers have made their home here. Once known as the Buffalo Braves, although they played decently, their original owner tried very hard to sell them and eventually succeeded. They were bought and sold to San Diego, where they moved and they became known as the L.A. Clippers. They have made their new home in the Staples Center in San Diego. It is considered a world-class playing arena and hosts many gatherings and games here in San Diego. Some of the most famous musicians and singers in the nation have made their way here to grace the stage, yet it remains primarily the home of the Los Angeles Clippers. Here they both train and make their stand against other teams, trying to show that they are dominant NBA team. Although they do not have as many fans as they deserve, they nonetheless have loyal fans who believe in the team and what they know they are capable of doing. With a new name and determination to make it in the NBA, the reformed Clippers worked hard to overcome the stigma of the past. Yet despite their hard efforts where they were winning most games, they were unable to make sufficient headway. Then the unthinkable happened and for thirteen solid years, they were unable to have a single win. Although this grew heavy on the team's hearts, they continue to train hard and give the game their all, while still hoping to be able to make it not only to the playoffs but also to victory. With the arrival of Mike Dunleavy, Sr., things began to change but even that was unable to stop fully the tide of being able to win. Unfortunately, despite a combined team effort, Dunleavy Sr. was unable to keep the team going through the playoffs due to an injury that occurred, which promptly ended their time there in the playoffs. Despite this, Dunleavy Sr. has continued to support the team past injury and trial, striving hard with his players for that victory they have worked towards for so many years now. Although they have had a difficult time as the Los Angeles Clippers, they have been able to pick up new players along the way that have added new life to the team. In addition, although he has been unable to bring them through the playoffs, Dunleavy Sr. has helped to bring the team further along, giving them the chance they need to make the score they keep dreaming about making. The Los Angeles Clippers might not have had a successful campaign, but they have nonetheless remained a strong team within the NBA while fighting for the playoffs. |
