Information about the Denver Nuggets


The Denver Nuggets have had a long history in the NBA. However, they did not first start out in the NBA but instead began as a charter franchise. Their initial startup was mediocre at best, and they were first known as the Denver Larks and later changed to the Denver Rockets but eventually had to change their names yet again due to another team already owning the name. Initially, they failed in their first season and they had been unable to make it to the championships. However, in later years and with the signing of a fresh new face, Spencer Heywood, the luck of the Denver Nuggets began to change.

However, it was not until the era of George Karl that the Denver Nuggets began to be known throughout the NBA as a force to be reckoned with. Yet despite this, fans continued to stay loyal and cheer their team on, hoping and praying for that one good game which would bring them to the championship. Denver fans would often loyally travel to the games, even if the weather in Colorado were very harsh. Colorado is known for its snow and biting cold winds, and fans traveling despite this is a testament to their belief in their home team.

The Pepsi Center, known to some as "The Can", was the second home to the Denver Nuggets during their years of moving up in rank and skill. It was a 4.6-acre stadium and was opened by the legendary Celine Dion, who reportedly was ecstatic to be able to cheer the team on with her singing. Not only is the new Pepsi Center an impressive stadium, but it also had installed into it a brand new backup generator which would ensure that fans could continue to enjoy the game no matter how bad things are with local power. With concerns over the snow and other weather issues, this has provided more entertainment to fans and a safe haven if necessary. With Karl now at the helm, the Nuggets were in for a positive and bright future.

George Karl, once at the helm, began to lead the Nuggets into the best post-season the team had ever had. Although he would eventually get prostate cancer, he made a big comeback that not only helped restore his career but also helped to bring the Nugget's best season ever. Together with the Nuggets, Karl reached his 900th win. This has not only inspired the Nuggets, but also fans, and with the recent renovations that have been done in Denver at the Pepsi Center, the playing field of the Nugget's have helped them stand taller and play harder than ever before.

Although the Denver Nuggets had a rocky start, they have made a strong comeback and have earned the respect of the NBA teams. It took them years to make their first win, but they have been winning since. In addition, with Karl guiding them and the fans inspiring, the Nuggets will continue going strong.
